WBJEE 2017 engineering exam date announced
West Bengal Joint Entrance Exam Board has announced the WBJEE 2017 exam date. Exam will be conducted on 23rd April 2017 in forenoon and afternoon sessions. WBJEE 2017 will be conducted offline in pen & paper mode where candidates have to answer on OMR sheet. Engineering entrance exam will have paper 1 (mathematics) and paper 2 (Physics and Chemistry). Paper 1 will be conducted from 11:00AM to 1:00PM and paper 2 will be conducted from 2:00PM to 4:00PM on the same day.
WBJEE 2017 is conducted for admissions into Engineering/Technology/Pharmacy and Architecture courses offered at professional institutions across West Bengal state.
Eligibility
The candidates shall satisfy following criterion to be eligible for appearing WBJEE 2017.
- All candidates shall be citizens of India
- Candidates shall attain 17 years of age by 31st December 2017.
- Candidates must pass 10+2 with Physics and Mathematics along with any one of Chemistry /Biotechnology / Biology / Computer Science / Computer Application as compulsory subjects with individual pass marks (in both theory and practical wherever applicable) in all the three subjects as stated above in regular class mode.
- Candidates shall score 45% (40% for reserved categories) in qualifying exam.
- Candidates must pass the English paper in 10+2 with 30% marks.
- Candidates who are appearing final exam of 10+2 in 2017 are also eligible to apply.
WBJEE is accepting applications from 5th January 2017 and candidates have to apply online only. The candidates can apply till 4th February 2017 and any corrections regarding online applications will be allowed between 6th and 8th February 2017. Application fee for applying WBJEE 2017 is Rs.500/- and can be paid either online using credit card/debit card/net banking or by cash through Allahabad Bank e-challan.
Exam syllabus remained same as previous year and no changes in exam pattern and mode of questioning observed.
Results of WBJEE 2017 are expected in the month of June 2017 and tentative date is 5th June.
The candidates shall appear either NATA 2017 or JEE Main 2017 paper 2 in order to attain eligibility for admissions to architecture programmes.
