Common Management Admission Test(CMAT 2017)

CMAT is a national level entrance exam conducted every year  by AICTE for admission in to various postgraduate management programs. The CMAT score is accepted by all Institutes and University Departments/Constituent Colleges/Affiliated Colleges approved by AICTE across the country. CMAT 2017 will be conducted on 28th January 2017 for admissions to 2017-2018 academic session and 29th will be the reserved day for conducting exam. From 2017 onwards AICTE will conduct the CMAT only once in a year and exam will be held in single day.

Eligibility

To apply for CMAT 2017 the candidate must be an Indian and should be holding a Bachelor's Degree(After 10+2) in any discipline. Candidates appearing for final year of graduate programs whose results will be declared before the start of admission session(2017-18) are also eligible to appear CMAT 2017.

Application Process for CMAT 2017

To apply for CMAT 2017 the candidates have to under go 3 step process i.e, Registration, Payment and Final submission of Application.

    1. Registration
        The candidates willing to take CMAT 2017 are required to register first through the official web page online. An application form will be available on the web page which is required to be filled with the self information of the applicant and submit to complete the registration. A six digit password will be generated on the screen and forworded to the applicant through SMS amd E-mail. Once the registration is completed, candidate cannot edit the data entered in the form.
    2. Payment Process
        Once after registering for the exam the applicant has to pay the application fee by choosing one of the 2 available payment modes.
        
        Mode 1(ONLINE PAYMENT) : The application fee can be paid online by selecting 'ONLINE PAYMENT' and do the payment using CREDIT CARD/DEBIT CARD/ NET BANKING. A Payment confirmation Email and SMS shall be received by the applicant upon successfull payment. Upon receiving the payment confirmation candidate can continue for the 3rd step of the application process.
        
        Mode 2(CASH PAYMENT in SBI BANK) : The application fee can also be paid by cash through State Bank of India by selecting the option 'CASH PAYMENT in SBI Bank'. Once the option is selected a CHALLAN will be generated on the screen filled with the details of the applicant and 3 copies of the CHALLAN have to be printed out and fill the information required. A day after the CHALLAN is generated, cash deposit can be made in any of the SBI branches. Note that Cash Deposit will be accepted from next day of generation of CHALLAN only. A Payment confirmation shall be received through Email and SMS upon successfull updation of payment in the registration portal with in 48 hours. The candidate can then continue for submission of final application.
        
        Fee:
            Fee for General/OBC candidates : Rs 1400.00/-
            Fee for Female/SC/ST/PWD Candidates : Rs 700.00/-
        
    3. Submission of Final Application
        Once the payment is successfully updated on the registration portal the candidate can fill the remaining part (other than self information) of the application form by signing in to the portal and click VIEW/MODIFY button. Once the form is filled with accurate information SUBMIT button can be clicked to complete the final submission.
        
        Choosing the Test Center: A choice of 3 test centers can be made and center will be slloted as per the order of preference and availability.

Download of ADMIT CARD

    ADMIT CARD/ HALL TICKET is required to attend the CMAT 2017 on the scheduled date and availability of "admitcard download" will be announced later. Admitcard for CMAT 2017 can be downloaded  by signing in to the portal with the id and password obtained during the registration. AICTE will also mail the Admit cards to the applicant's registered email ID.

Exam Pattern

    CMAT 2017 will be a computer based test and will consist 100 objective type questions for a Maximum of 400 Marks. 4 marks will be given for each correct answer and 1 mark will be deducted for every incorrect answer. Duration of the test is 180 minutes.
    
    CMAT 2017 exam will not have any defined syllabus but questions will be from the following 4 sections:

  •     Quantitative Techniques & Data Interpretation
  •     Logical Reasoning
  •     Language Comprehension
  •     General Awareness

    **A trial test will be available on AICTE-CMAT website from 15th December 2016, which will help understand the exam pattern and make conversant to online navigation.
