Maharashtra Common Entrance Test - MHT-CET 2017

Maharashtra Common Entrance Test (MHT-CET) is conducted by State Common Entrance Test Cell, Government of Maharashtra to admit the eligible candidates into first year degree programmes in Engineering, Medical, Pharmacy, Veterinary and other allied health sciences courses. Admissions in the government, private professional institutions will be done based on merit obtained in the MHT-CET.  From academic year 2017 onwards admission to the MBBS and BDS courses will be done through NEET-UG conducted by CBSE and only admissions to the Indian system of medicine will be done through MHT-CET.

Exam is conducted state wide at 1000+ test centers in a single calendar day in 3 different sessions. Exam paper will be available in Marathi, Urdu and English except Mathematics which is only available in English.

Candidates seeking admission in Engineering/Technology courses through all India quota need not appear in MHT-CET as All India Quota seats will be filled through JEE Main conducted by CBSE.  Director of Technical Education, Maharashtra announced MHT-CET 2017 exam date and exam will be held on 11th May, 2017. Detailed notification with information brochure will be available in the month of January, 2017.

MHT-CET Eligibility Criteria for Admissions

Eligibility for Engineering/Technology courses

  • Candidates shall be Indian national
  • Candidates shall pass 10+2 from board of Maharashtra or equivalent examination with English as a subject and secure minimum with 50% (45% for SC/ST/PwD) in Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology/ Technical Vocational subjects added together.
  • Candidates appeared/appearing in final year of qualifying exam are also eligible to apply.

Eligibility for B. Pharmacy Courses

  • Candidates shall be Indian national
  • Candidates shall pass 10+2 from board of Maharashtra or equivalent examination with English as a subject and secure minimum with 45% (40% for SC/ST/PwD) in Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology/ Technical Vocational subjects added together.
  • Candidates appeared/appearing final year of qualifying exam are also eligible to apply.

Eligibility for Pharma.D. Course

  • Candidates shall be Indian national
  • Candidates shall pass 10+2 from board of Maharashtra or equivalent examination with English as a subject and secure minimum with 45% (40% for SC/ST/PwD) in Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry/Biotechnology/Biology/ Technical Vocational subjects added together. Or Candidates shall pass diploma course in pharmacy from affiliated institutions of state board with a minimum of 50% (45 for SC/ST/PwD).
  • Candidates appeared/appearing final year of qualifying exam are also eligible to apply.

Eligibility for BAMS/BHMS/BUMS/BPTh/BOTh/BASLP/BP&O and B.Sc. Nursing

  • Candidates shall be Indian national.
  • Candidate must have passed the qualifying examination i.e. Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC/12th Standard) or equivalent examination with English as a subject and have secured 50% (45% for SC/ST) marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Botany & Zoology) at the time of admission.
  • Candidates seeking admission into BUMs should have studied Urdu, Arabic or Persian as one of the subject at SSC level.
  •  Candidates appeared/appearing final year of qualifying exam are also eligible to apply.

Eligibility for Veternary Courses

  • Candidates shall be Indian national
  • Candidates shall complete 17 years age by 31st of December in admission year.
  • Candidates shall pass 10+2 from recognized board with English as a subject and have secured 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology together.

MHT-CET Exam Pattern

Maharashtra Common Entrance Test (MHT-CET) exam pattern is of pen and paper model and questions are of MCQ type. Exam will have 3 papers and each paper is conducted for a period of 1 and half hour. MCQ questions will have 4 options with single correct answer. Each correct answer will fetch 1 mark for paper-1 & paper-2 and two marks for Paper-3.  No negative marking is there for wrong answers and each paper will carry 100 marks. Candidates have to bubble the OMR sheets with blue/black ball point pen only.

Candidates seeking admission into health sciences and veterinary courses will have to appear paper-1 and paper-2 and candidates seeking admission into engineering courses have to appear paper-1 and paper-3. Pharmacy aspirants shall appear paper-1, paper-2 and or paper-3 depends upon their subjects studied at 10+2 level.

MHT-CET Syllabus

Syllabus for MHT-CET is of syllabi prescribed by board of Maharashtra for 10+2 subjects Mathematics, Physics, Biology and Zoology for current academic year.

MHT-CET 2017 Application Process

Aspirants have to register online to appear MHT-CET 2017 at “www.mhtcet2017.co.in” and online application for registration to MHT-CET 2017 will be available in the month of March 2017. Candidates have to remember MHT CET 2017 Registration No & Password for future correspondence.

Candidates have to upload photograph and signature during application filling and have to download the bank challan for fee payment.

After 48 hours from the registration MHT-CET 2017 application fee can be paid at any SBI branches and Rs.800/- (Rs.600/- for SC/ST) has to be remitted against fee.

Candidates have to update the date of payment and bank transaction Id in the online application and need to confirm the payment.  Application confirm page will be generated and candidates are advised to print the same for future needs.

MHT-CET 2017 Hall Ticket

Hall tickets (Admit cards) for MHT-CET 2017 will be available in the mid of April 2017 and candidates have to download the hall ticket using registration number and password. Candidates roll number and exam center where he/she selected to appear will be printed on the hall ticket. Candidates have to appear for the exam with downloaded hall ticket and with any valid photo Id proof.

MHT-CET 2017 Results

Results for MHT-CET 2017 will be declared by the end of May 2017 and admission to the professional courses will be through Centralized Allotment Process (CAP) handled by the concerned bodies and admission schedule will be announced later. Engineering admissions will be done by DTE, Maharashtra and medical and allied courses admission will be handled by DMER, Maharashtra.
