NEET 2017 bar on previous attempts in AIPMT/NEET removed
CBSE has released a clarification regarding cap of number of attempts in appearing NEET UG 2017. As per the new notification, candidates who appeared in earlier AIPMT/NEET tests need not worry. Those attempts which were made earlier shall not be calculated for cap of 3 attempts. CBSE has removed the bar on 3 attempts and online application is modified accordingly.
The cap of number of 3 attempts will be calculated From NEET UG 2017 onwards and appearing in NEET UG 2017 will be calculated as first attempt. Hence the candidates, whoever is appearing NEET UG 2017, can fill no in “undertaking regarding permissible number of attempts in AIPMT/NEET” page.
Department of Health and Family Welfare, Govt. of India vide their office letter no.U. 12023/16/2010-ME-II/MEP dated 3/02/2017 has communicated that a clarification has sought from Medical Council of India and it has been clarified by MCI officials that the attempts made by candidates for AIPMT/NEET prior to NEET UG 2017 should not be counted accordingly appearance in NEET UG 2017 will be counted as first attempt for all the candidates irrespective of their previous attempts in AIPMT/NEET.
This shall be an opportunity for the candidates who could not fill the NEET UG 2017 application due to the number of attempts condition. All other rules and conditions mentioned in the information bulletin will be intact.
The NEET UG 2017 application process is going on and all aspirants shall apply online through cbseneet.nic.in website. CBSE has also made AADHAAR details as mandatory while applying for the entrance exam. The applicants have to complete the online application in all aspects and need to submit on or before 1st March 2017.
CBSE will later allow the candidates to correct data (few fields) entered in the application form and the date for correction window will be announced later.
