JEE Main 2017 Offline Exam Date is Announced
MHRD has announced the JEE Main 2017 offline exam date and it is to be conducted on 2nd April 2017. CBSE will be conducting the exam and as per new notification few changes are observed. Candidates who are placed in top 220,000 of JEE Main 2017 scorers are eligible for appearing JEE Advanced 2017 which is scheduled to be held on 21st May, 2017.
JEE Main 2017 paper 1 and paper 2 will be conducted on the same day and results will be announced on 27th April, 2017. Detailed information bulletin will be released on 1st December, 2017 and JEE Main 2017 online application will be available from 1st December to 2nd January, 2017. Paper 1 is conducted for admissions to engineering courses and paper 2 is conducted for admissions to Architecture/Planning courses.
Though no specific dates were mentioned for online exams in the notification, as per our sources JEE Main 2017 online exam will be conducted on 8th and 9th April, 2017 in different sessions.
Candidates from Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Uttrakhand, Nagaland and Odisha are advised to apply for JEE Main 2017 as all these states have joined the JEE Main system and admissions in these states will be carried out on the basis of JEE Main 2017 Scores.
Important Changes Observed in JEE Main 2017
- Candidates appearing for JEE Main 2017 shall possess AADHAAR UID as it is mandatory to mention AADHAAR UID number in the application form.
- Those candidates only shall be eligible to admissions in IITs, NITs, IIITs and other CFTIs who score 75 %( 65% for SC/ST) in 12th class conducted by respective boards.
- There will be no weightage for 10+2 marks while computing JEE Main ranks hereafter.
