JEE Main 2017 application submission last date extended - here is the info
The apex body of JEE Main 2017 has extended the application last date to 16th January 2017. CBSE has released a press note stating application date extension and candidates can pay the application fee up to 17th January 2017. Earlier the deadline was 2nd of January 2017 for submission of online application.
The candidates, who have failed to procure AADHAAR and not applied for JEE main 2017, now can utilize the date extension to apply.
Important changes in JEE Main 2017
- AADHAAR number is mandatory for applying JEE main 2017.
- Candidates shall score 75% (65% for SC/ST) in 12th class or be in top 20 percentile of board exams if seeking admission in IITs, NITs and other CFTIs.
- No weightage for 12th marks while computing JEE Main 2017 ranks.
AADHAAR roll in JEE Main 2017 application
From this year onwards AADHAAR was made mandatory to apply for JEE Main 2017. The candidates who don’t have AADHAAR can enroll via facilitation centers provided by CBSE all over India. Check the list of facilitation centers available to know the nearest AADHAAR facilitation center to enroll. The candidates shall ensure the data entered in the JEE main 2017 application shall match with AADHAAR card data.
In such facilitation centers where AADHAAR enrollment is not available candidates can give a request for AADHAAR enrollment. Facilitation center will issue a registration number to the candidate, which can be used to fill in the application form instead of AADHAAR id. The candidates from J&K, Assam and Meghalaya have to enter the passport number/ ration card number/ bank account number or any other valid Government identity number.

Fee Payment for JEE main 2017
Candidates applying for JEE Main 2017 can pay the fee either online or through e-challan. Candidates who wish to pay the fee online can pay through credit card/debit card/net banking or through SBI buddy and PAYTM mobile wallets. Applicants who wish to pay by e-challan have to download the same selecting the bank (Syndicate/Canara/ICICI/HDFC) to deposit the application fee.
