JAM 2017 Information Brochure Released, Exam to be Held on 12th February 2017

IIT Delhi released the JAM 2017 detailed information brochure and exam will be held on 12th February 2017 in 2 sessions. Every year consortium of IITs conducts Joint Admission Test for M.Sc. to fill the seats in IITS and IISc. IIT Delhi is conducting JAM 2017 this year to provide the admissions into Integrated Ph.D. programs offered at IISc, and M.Sc., Joint M.Sc. – Ph.D., Dual degree M.Sc. – Ph.D., M.Sc. – M.Tech. and post B.Sc. programs offered at  IITs across India. JAM 2017 is available for both Indian and foreign nationals and candidates willing to appear for the exam have to apply online only.

Candidates have to register online from 5th September 2016 and registration window will be open till 6th October 2016. A fee of Rs 1500/- (Rs 750/- for female/SC/ST) has to be paid against the application fee. Exam is conducted for 7 disciplines and a candidate can appear for maximum 2 test papers.

Candidates who possess a bachelor degree from any recognized university with 55% aggregate (50% for SC/ST) are eligible for JAM 2017. Candidates who appear final year of qualifying exam in 2017 can also apply for exam provided he/she has to submit the degree certificates before 30th September 2017.

The exam is computer based online test where candidates have to answer on the computer screen. JAM 2017 offers 7 test papers i.e., Biological Sciences (BL), Biotechnology (BT), Chemistry (CY), Geology (GG), Mathematics (MA), Mathematical Statistics (MS) and Physics (PH) disciplines. Test for Biological Sciences (BL), Mathematics (MA) and Physics (PH) disciplines will be held in the morning session from 9.00AM to 12.00PM and rest of the 4 papers will be conducted in the afternoon session from 2.00PM to 5.00PM.

Each paper will have 60 questions carrying 100 marks and test paper is divided into 3 sections containing MCQ, MSQ and NAT type questions. Exam will be conducted across 63 test cities in India for duration of 3 hours.
