IIM Udaipur Admission Policy for PGP 2017 Announced
Indian institute of Management Udaipur has announced the 2017 admission policy for PGP programme. Maximum weightage is given for CAT 2016 scores for admission to post graduate programmes by the institute. Candidates initially are shortlisted for Personal Appearance (PA) based on their CAT scores. Institute has kept cutoff as 90 percentile for short listing the candidates for PA which is collective of Written Analysis and Personal Interview.

Coming to PA (written analysis and personal interview), the 9 IIMs (IIM Amritsar, IIM Bodhgaya, IIM Kashipur, IIM Raipur, IIM Ranchi, IIM Rohtak, IIM Sambalpur, IIM Trichy and IIM Udaipur) adopted common process and IIM Rohtak handles the process this year.
For preparing merit list IIM Udaipur has given 55% weightage for CAT 2016 score, 21% for PA and 24 % for personal profile.
In personal appearance written analysis will have 6% and interview will have 15% weightage and candidates who do not attain minimum scores will not be placed in the merit list. Minimum scores in individual section will be discretion of admitting institute.
Personal profile is combination of academic performance, work experience and diversity factor and will have 24% weightage.
Academic profile has 8% weightage and performance in 10th, 12th and under graduation will have following basis for scoring. A maximum of 2% for 10th, 2% for 10+2 and 4% weightage for under graduation is given.

Candidate’s work experience will play a pivot roll in computing personal profile having 6% overall weightage and score is scaled upon experience over a period. Maximum score will be given to candidates who have experience in the range of 25 to 36 months. Here is the score chart for work experience.

Diversity factor has a total 10% weightage and is introduced by IIMs in calculating merit to accommodate candidates from different educational backgrounds and to justify gender equality. Female candidates will have advantage in diversity factor as they will be awarded with a score of 5 compared to 0 for males. Candidates other than technical backgrounds like arts, humanities, commerce and basic sciences will have advantage of 5 score points over others.
