Karnataka Post Graduate Entrance Exam (For Agriculture & Horticulture) - PGET Agriculture 2017
Agricultural Universities of Karnataka are conducting a common admission process to post graduate and doctoral programs for academic year 2017-18. Farm Universities of Karnataka initiated a common admission process for P.G. programs from academic year 2015-16 and from the year 2016 doctoral programs are also included in common admission process. An entrance test called Post Graduate Entrance Test (PGET) will be conducted to ascertain the candidate’s ability and all the admissions are purely on merit basis.

All the 5 universities from Karnataka mentioned bellow are participating in the admission process to fill the seats in Agriculture, Horticulture and Forestry P.G. & Ph.D. programs.

- University of Agricultural Sciences, Dharwad
- University of Agricultural Sciences, Raichur
- University of Agricultural and Horticultural Sciences, Shivamogga
- University of Horticultural Sciences, Bagalkot
Online application process
UAHS, Bangalore has conducted PGET agriculture 2016, based on that application process is discussed for overview. Candidates have to apply through online only. Online application form will be available from third week of May, 2017 and ends in June, 2017. Candidates have to read the e-Brochure before filling the application form. A sample application is available on UAHS Bangalore website for candidate’s convenience to fill the application. All the required documents have to be uploaded such as recent photograph, left hand thumb impression, signature and parent’s signature.
Eligibility for Master’s Degree Programs
- Candidates shall pass a bachelors degree from relevant discipline with a minimum OGPA of 6.5 (6 for SC/ST) from any recognized Agriculture/ Horticulture university.
- Candidates have to secure 50% from entrance exam (PGET) to be eligible for admission.
- Candidates shall be domicile of Karnataka.
Eligibility for Doctoral Programs
- Candidates shall posses a Masters Degree from relevant discipline with a minimum OGPA of 7.5 (7 for SC/ST) from any recognized Agriculture/ Horticulture university.
- Candidates have to secure 50% from entrance exam (PGET) to eligible for admission.
- No domicile requirement for Doctoral programs.
Exam Dates and Preference Subjects
- Candidates applying for masters programs can make 2 subject preferences
- PGET for Masters programs will be conducted on a date that fall in the first week of July, 2017 between 10.00AM to 11.15AM for 1st preference and from 11.30AM to 12.45PM for 2nd preference.
- Candidates applying for doctoral programs can make only one preference.
- PGET for doctoral programs will also be conducted in first week of July, 2017 between 10.00Am to 11.15AM
- No preference change is allowed after final submission of application.
Exam centers
PGET for Agriculture and Horticulture courses will be conducted at 5 cities across Karnataka. Candidates for master programs shall opt the same center where he studied his qualifying exam. Candidates from out of Karnataka who wish to appear for doctoral programs can opt any of the 5 choices. Exam centers are as listed below.

Admit Card download
Candidates who successfully applied for entrance exam can down load admit card from last week of June, 2017. Admit cards will be made available on all the 5 farm universities websites. Candidates have to produce admit card along with an ID proof at the time of entrance exam. Id card of the college last studied or Passport/ Aadhar card/ Driving license will be accepted as ID proof.
Result announcement and merit list
Results for PGET 2017 will be announced in July, 2017 and merit list will be uploaded late in July. Merit list will be prepared on the basis of equal weightage to the exam and OGPA scores. For candidates who seek admission to Ph.D under in-service quota, merit list will be prepared on 50% weightage to experience and 50% weightage to the exam and OGPA scores.
Important things to note
- Candidates seeking re admission need not appear the entrance exam, instead they can directly apply to their university.
- Request for change of center or change of subject preferences is not allowed.
- Before applying for PGET candidates shall go through subject preferences codes and eligibilities thoroughly.
- Candidates have to preserve the admit card till the end of admission process.
- Candidates shall upload all the necessary documents before last date of submission and need to produce the same at the time of admission process.
- Candidates have to update their OGPA scores on stipulated time or else candidature will be cancelled.
