WBJEEB Joint Entrance Examination for Lateral Entry - JELET 2016
Every year West Bengal Joint Entrance Exam Board (WBJEEB) conducts an entrance test for admissions into lateral entry (2nd year or 3rd Semester) Engineering / Technology and Pharmacy courses in institutions across West Bengal state. WBJEEB is initiated application process for JELET for academic year 2016-17, desired candidates who wish to appear the exam have to register online to submit the online application. Online Application Process & Fee payment
Candidates have to fill the application online only, fee payment can be done through online or bank challan, Candidates have to pay a sum of Rs 510/- against the application fee. Online application will start from 5th May and will end on 16th June 2016. Applying for JELET 2016 contains 4 steps as follows.
Step1 - New candidate registration
In step one candidate has to register providing Name, DOB, Gender, email-id and mobile number. Candidates have to carefully enter the mail id and mobile number as all the future communication will be made on that.
Step2-Filling up application form
In step 2 candidates have to fill the application providing personal and academic details along with the test center choices.
Step3 -Image upload
After filling up the form candidates have to upload the Recent Photograph, signature, domicile certificate, caste certificate and age proof.
Step4 – Fee payment
After uploading required images candidates have to pay the examination fee by available options ‘online payment’ or ‘payment by Allahabad bank challan’. After successful payment a conformation page will be generated and all the candidates are advised to take a print out for further needs.
Eligibility for Engineering / Technology
- Candidates shall be domicile of West Bengal state.
- Candidates from other states are only eligible for admission into private institutions.
- Candidates shall pass an engineering diploma from any recognized institution with an aggregate of 45% (40% for SC/ST) marks.
- Candidates shall pass a B.Sc. degree from any recognized university with an aggregate of 45% (40% for SC/ST) marks and shall pass 10+2 with mathematics as compulsory subject.
- Candidates who appear/ appeared qualifying exam in 2016 and whose results are awaited can also apply for JELET 2016.
- Upper age limit will be 27 years by 31st December 2016

- Candidates shall be domicile of West Bengal state.
- Candidates from other states are only eligible for admission into private institutions.
- Candidates shall pass a Pharmacy diploma from any recognized institution with an aggregate of 45% (40% for SC/ST) marks.
- Candidates who appear/ appeared qualifying exam in 2016 and whose results are awaited can also apply for JELET 2016.
- B.Sc. degree holders are not qualified for lateral entry pharmacy programs.
- Upper age limit will be 27 years by 31st December 2016
Exam pattern
Joint entrance exam will be conducted for duration of 2 hours and all the questions will be MCQ type with four options and single correct answer. Paper for all the disciplines contains 100 questions and all the correct answers will fetch 1 mark. For each wrong answer ¼ a mark will be deducted. All the questions will be in English language only and candidates have to bubble the OMR sheets. For all the disciplines of engineering and technology a common question paper is formulated and a separate question paper is set for Pharmacy and B.Sc. candidates.
- For B.Sc. candidates, paper will be set on Mathematics at graduation level.
- For Pharmacy candidates, paper will be set on diploma level pharmacy syllabus.
Exam Date and Test Centers
Entrance exam for Lateral entry programs will be conducted in one session on 24th July at 12.00PM to 2.00PM and will be conducted at 12 zones as listed bellow with zone codes. Candidates can select a maximum of 2 test centers as choice.

Admit card
Candidates can download admit cards from www.wbjee.in website before 10 days of schedule of exam. Candidates shall produce the same along with Photograph at test center. Candidates are advised to retain the admit card till the admission process completes.
Declaration of Results & Rank Cards
Merit list will be prepared on the candidate’s performance in the entrance exam and list will be published on 27th July, qualified candidates can download their rank cards from ww.wbjeeb.in.
Important things to note
- While filling the application candidates have to ensure the correct details as no correction is allowed once the submission is completed
- Candidates are advised to write the appropriate branch codes on OMR sheets. Candidates can check branch codes in information brochure.
- While bubbling the OMR sheet only blue/black point pen is advised.
- All images should be uploaded as per stipulated sizes
- Photo should be matched at the time of examination.
- Exam center change is not allowed.
