Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination - JCECE 2016
Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board conducts different entrance exams to admit candidates into various professional colleges across Jharkhand state. Jharkhand combined entrance competitive examination (JCECE 2016) is to test the merit of the candidates who are desired to join in under graduate engineering, medical, agricultural and veterinary courses in government and private professional institutions for 2016 – 17 academic years.
Application Process
Candidates who are willing to appear JCECE 2016 can avail any one of the 3 options for applying to the exam. An online method, ICR application form method and purchasing OMR application form through select post offices are available for registration. 16th of may will be the last date to submit the application in all modes.
- Candidates have to register online to access the application form and upon successful registration. Candidates can access online application by logging on the official website providing registration ID and date of birth. Candidates have to fill the basic and academic details and need to upload the scanned photo, signature and thumb impression. Online payment can be done to complete the total application process.
- Candidates who wish to apply through ICR application form method have to download the application online and fill necessary details and attach the prescribed exam fee by DD/ challan and send to the Board official address before the last date of submission.
- OMR applications are available on selected post offices and candidates have to purchase the application and fill the necessary details and send to the official board address before the last date of submission.

Subject Groups and Exam Pattern
JCECE 2016 is a pen and paper based exam where candidates have to bubble the OMR sheet and the exam is conducted in one stage which consists of 3 subject groups namely PCM subject group, PCB subject group and PCMB subject group, candidates desired to apply for engineering, agriculture and forestry programs have to appear for PCM subject group and candidates willing to apply for medical, agriculture, forestry and veterinary courses have to appear for PCB subject group. To be eligible for all programs candidates have to appear for PCMB subject group. Group wise subjects and number of questions as listed below.

Questions type and scoring
Questions are available in both English and Hindi languages, questions in each subject are MCQ type and each question has 4 choices with single correct answer. Each correct answer will fetch 1 mark and ¼ a mark will be deducted for wrong answer.

JCECE syllabus is as prescribed by CBSE board and candidates can refer the board website for detailed syllabus.
Basic eligibility
- Candidate must be citizen of India and domicile of Jharkhand
Academic Eligibility
For engineering courses
- Candidate shall pass 10+2 or equivalent from and recognized board with an aggregate of 45% (40% for reserved category) in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.
For MBBS and BDS courses
- Candidate shall pass 10+2 or equivalent from and recognized board with an aggregate of 50% (40% for reserved category) in Biology, Physics, and Chemistry along with English as compulsory subject.
- Candidates shall attain the age of 17 years by 31st of December
For Agriculture and Forestry courses
- Candidate shall pass 10+2 or equivalent from and recognized board in Biology/ Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry as compulsory subjects.
- Candidate shall attain a minimum of 17 years and maximum of 22 years by 1st of July
For Veterinary courses
- Candidate shall pass 10+2 or equivalent from and recognized board with an aggregate of 50% (40% for reserved category) in Biology, Physics, and Chemistry along with English as compulsory subject.
- Candidates shall attain the age of 17 years by 31st of December.
For Homeopathy course
- Candidate shall pass 10+2 or equivalent from and recognized board in Biology, Physics, Chemistry and English as compulsory subjects.
Admit card and Results
Admit card can be downloaded from the link http://jceceb.jharkhand.gov.in/Links/admit_card.aspx by selecting the JCECE Exam from the list when it is made available on the official website. Admit card contains Roll number, Name, Fathers name, Exam center and other details, Candidates whose registration is successful can download the Admit card from the official website, need to check the details printed on the card and if any discrepancies found has to be reported for the correction. Candidates have to preserve the admit card till the councelling and admission process completes. Once the exam concludes, Results will be declared along with the category wise merit lists and candidate can download the results from official website.
Exam schedule
Exam for All subject groups will be conducted on 12th June 2016 (rescheduled from 5th of June 2016) and subject and group wise timings as bellow.

Test centers
JCECE 2016 for PCM subject group will be conducted across Jharkhand state in Ranchi, Dhanbad, Bokaro, Jamshedpur, Hazaribagh and Dumka . For subject groups PCB and PCMB exam will be conducted only on Ranchi test center.
